Laboratory Glass Tea Pot
This simple design borosilicate (laboratory) glass tea pot comes with a metal mesh strainer ideal for brewing loose leaf tea.
German inventor Otto Schott developed the first borosilicate glass in 1893 by adding boric oxide to the traditional glassmaker's cocktail of silicate sand, soda and ground lime. The new material was immediately marketed for laboratory and industrial use as well as for the home kitchen.
Simax is an decade-old German company that created borosilicate products and continues to expand upon that initial innovation for the domestic market, winning the iF product design award for 2013, a juried exhibition and awards ceremony mounted in 1953 by International Forum Design of Hanover, Germany.
